ABM Respiratory Care created the BiWaze® platform to provide bi-directional control with two separate blowers managing inhalation and exhalation pathways . The BiWaze platform is designed to increase airway clearance therapy effectiveness, increased patient comfort during therapy and improved therapy adherence.
The first device available on the platform is BiWaze® Cough, an innovative assisted cough therapy designed to remove secretions in the upper airways instead of invasive suctioning. BiWaze Cough combines assisted cough and lung expansion along with an high frequency oscillation therapies. The system has two separate blowers for managing inhale and exhale breaths which is unlike any other cough device on the market. The two blower design helps increase functional residual capacity after the exhale breath. BiWaze Cough includes a lithium-ion battery, 10 therapy profiles and advanced therapy programming allowing different pressures for each cough cycle.
